Droga Confections came to be in 2007 by Michelle Crochet. The story is a simple one really. Michelle’s mom was the rebel that decided to kick up a recipe for old-fashioned walnut rocky road by substituting salted peanuts as a way to create a tastier treat for the family. Interestingly, she created the recipe the year she was pregnant with Michelle. Once Michelle admitted her addiction to her mother’s salted peanut rocky road, she decided her best bet was to share it with the world. Her mother’s creativity in the kitchen continues to inspire Michelle to try new ways to create unique confections. Michelle’s passion is for finding and using great ingredients to create confections that make people unable to resist eating just one, which means they found happiness (some might even say a little piece of heaven) from the experience, which makes our candy kitchen’s little heart tick. Being a company founded in San Francisco by a Bay Area native, we know where to find great ingredients, we appreciate them, and we use them to make stand-out chocolate confections. Not only do we always use the best ingredients we can get our hands on, but we commonly source them within California.
